Kelleys Island, like many of the Lake Erie Islands, was once covered in vineyards. Today the island has abundant wooded areas, with trails and preserved unique natural features. Kelleys Island consists of approximately 2,800 acres and is Ohio's largest island. The island has fine beaches and is known for it's glacial grooves. There are numerous residential areas, a school, museum/historical facility, a business district and state park.
Former quarries are visible, some of them protected areas. There are many unique historical structures, and a historic business district. Enjoy a variety of dining opportunities and live entertainment. Community events include a fish fry, festivals, and bird conservation efforts.
Views from Kelleys Island include Cedar Point Amusement Park and Perry's Monument on South Bass Island.
